The Trinity County Chamber of Commerce will host its 2nd annual living history camp, complete with 19th century battles. Feel the ground shake as the cavalry comes charging by; hold your ears as the cannons fire, see the sun glint off the bayonets of the infantry and the swords of the cavalry. On Friday, February 17, will be a Day of Learning for school groups to draw attention to history and romance of the Civil War way of life. Camps will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for school children from across the area on School Day (pre-registration required). On Saturday and Sunday, camps will open to the general public. On Saturday, a parade as well as a skirmish in the square will take place and a 19th Century Ball will be held in the evening. Tickets for the event will go on sale beginning December 10 at Christmas on the Square.
